Auburn/Paw Paw

Ronald “Ron” W. Klazura, 82, of Auburn, Michigan was born unto eternity on June 30, 2021, after a tireless battle of illness with his loving wife, Sharon, by his side.

Born on September 13, 1938, to Walter and Oliva Klazura, Ron spent his early years alongside his sister, Carol Buell, in Almena, Michigan.

Ron worked on his family farm as a child. Although it was hard work, he still managed to have fun with his friends and family. Ron had many aunts and uncles – which meant a lot of cousins. Gene, Josephine, and Sandy Mitchell, as well as Chuck and Jim Stearns, and Corrine Price were some especially close to Ron.

In 1956, Ron graduated Paw Paw high School. After graduation, Ron enlisted in the U.S. Air Force as Crypto Radio Operator, and consequently served four years. As a Cold War Veteran, Ron’s assignments included Keesler Air Force Base (AFB), Mississippi; Tachikawa AFB, Japan; and Seymour Johnson AFB, North Carolina.

In 1963, Ron met and married the love of his life, Sharon L. Giachino, in Detroit, Michigan. Together, they had two children – Anthony W.R. and Tina L. Klazura.

After being honorably discharged from the Air Force, Ron continued to serve his country. For the next 37 years, Ron worked for the U.S. Border Patrol, U.S. Immigration Services, and finally, with the U.S. Customs Service.

While working with the U.S. Customs, Ron was assigned to Antler, North Dakota, as well as numerous cities in Michigan where he eventually resided including Detroit, Battle Creek, Midland, Saginaw, and Bay City.

After retirement, Ron enjoyed many hobbies and interests such as fishing, gardening, wood working, talking long walks and exploring with his metal detector. He also had a love for classic country and Bluegrass music.

Anyone who knew Ron knew his love for cars. He took great care and ownership of his vehicles, and was always on the lookout for a good deal! Another very special love he had was for his granddaughter, Katherine “Katie” L. McKee. She brought unmeasurable joy to his life unlike any other.

Ron and his wife, Sharon, lived in their home in Auburn, Michigan for 33 years. Sharon was a courageous and diligent caregiver for Ron up until the end, fulfilling a lifelong promise she had made to her husband.

Ron is survived and remembered by many including his wife Sharon; sister, Carol Buell of Lawton, MI; son and daughter-in-law, Anthony and Wiangjai Klazura of Mountain Home, ID; daughter and son-in-law, Tina and Joseph Brown of Harbor Springs and Lawton, MI, respectively; and his granddaughter, Katie McKee of Harbor Springs, MI.

Ron is preceded in death by his parents, his mother- and father-in-law, Betty Mihelich and Victor Giachino, and countless other friends and family.

Upon wishes from Ron, a cremation service was performed and there will be no services.
