Russell Allen Overacker, 76, of Mattawan, passed away Sunday, July 3, 2022.
He was born December 9, 1945 in Allegan, the son of Robert Overacker and Edith (Mills) Overacker.
Russ was an avid collector throughout most of his life. Among his collecting, he had an appreciation for guns, tools and antiques. He enjoyed crafting things together and going out hunting. He loved watching old Westerns, particularly John Wayne movies. Russ naturally attracted animals, most cats and dogs would give him a warm welcome. He was a passionate man and expressed his feelings that what was right was right.
Russell is survived by his wife Karen (Rambow) Overacker, two sons, Ron Overacker and Christopher (Colleen) Overacker; two daughters, Meghan (Kavik) Overacker and Suzzanne (Breton) Sholes; seven grandchildren, Jacob, Chad, Meredith, Nicholas-Isaac (Mariah), Joshua, Kane and Adler; five great grandchildren; two brothers, Donald (Kathy) Overacker and David (Denice) Overacker.
Russell was preceded in death by his son, Robert Overacker and his three brothers, Carl Overacker, Michael Overacker and Richard Overacker.
The family will receive friends Sunday, July 10, 2022, beginning at 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home 502, West Michigan Ave., Paw Paw where a celebration of life will commence at 3:00 p.m. Private interment will take place Monday at Almena Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Arbor Day Foundation.
